WWII Navy Corpsman Medical Supply Trunk

A nice WWII Navy Corpsman trunk, these were used to carry medical supplies and sat in an upright position when in use. These were usually made by the Fisher Price toy company but this one was made by The Displayers out of New York.

WWII US Navy Pilot Officers Coat FM-2 Wildcat

My purchasing of uniforms have slowed down in recent times for various reasons but I did pick up this beautiful Navy Officers Service coat who was a pilot in the later part of WWII flying FM-2 Wildcats. Although his unit did participate in the Battle of Iwo Jima, he didn't join his air group until after April, 1945. Although not a combat vet, I am a huge fan of the Wildcat fighter aircraft and anybody who can fly and land off of an Escort Carrier is a hero in my book! Its great to finally add a Wildcat pilot uniform into the collection especially from this incredible pilot.

WWII Coast Guard Cesar Romero Autographed Photo

A really unique WWII item appeared recently of an autographed photo of Cesar Romero in his Coast Guard uniform dating from his time in WWII! Known for portraying the character The Joker in the 1960's Batman TV series, this is an incredible item of one of Hollywood's most iconic actors.

WWII Navy Corpsman Impression "5th Marine Division-Iwo Jima"

Recently I have been working on putting together a Navy Corpsman impression for public Living History events and WWII reenacting events. The goal is to put together camp display representing an aid station for the 1st Battalion, 28th Marines, 5th Marine Division at Iwo Jima. Due to the rarity or fragile condition of some of my original items I opted to use mostly reproduction items for my kit, with some original items mixed in. Below is the completed belt with gear that a Corpsman would have worn at Iwo Jima. Here is the list of items I picked up: Corpsman Bags (At The Front), Litter Straps (At The Front), Pistol Belt (Original), Suspenders (At The Front), WWI 1911 Pouch (Original), USMC 2nd Pattern Canteen Cover, left (WWII Impressions), M-2 Jungle Pouch (Original), USMC First Aid Pouch (WWII Impressions), KaBar (Original), Ka-Bar Sheath (What Price Glory), USMC 2nd Pattern Canteen Cover, right (At The Front), 1911 Holster (At The Front).
..and for the Bob Moolenbeek's of the world here is the PRIMARY SOURCE from the Iwo Jima after action reports that state Corpsman carried 1911's in combat at Iwo....

WWII Navy Corpsman Knife Embossed MD USN by Imperial

Here is a variation of the US Navy Corpsman pocket knife that was part of the UNIT-3 contents of the Corpsman bag. This version made by Imperial has the MD USN stamped on the the blade rather than on a plate on the body.

WWII Navy Corpsman 14-030 Unit 5 Case Medical USN

Here is one of the standard pieces of Corpsman battalion or company level aid station gear that was common on most amphibious assaults in later part of WWII. These cases had assigned gear that was included with them, this one being the Unit 5 set of equipment. These style cases are common in combat photos including D-day and Iwo Jima.
Here is another Corpsman Case.
